“Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s 133rd Birth Anniversary was celebrated at NIT Raipur”

Raipur chhattisgarh VISHESH : The National Institute of Technology (An Institute of National Importance) Raipur, reverberated with patriotic fervor and intellectual vigor as it celebrated the 133rd Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The commemorative event, held on 14th April 2024, was a testament to the enduring legacy of the visionary leader and the values he espoused.
The inauguration of the event was marked by an inspiring speech delivered by Prof. Harendra Bikrol, who set the tone for the day’s proceedings. The program commenced with the soul-stirring rendition of the National Song, “Vande Mataram,” followed by the dignitaries paying homage to Babasaheb by lighting candles and offering garlands on his photograph.

One of the highlights of the event was the collective reading of the Preamble by all attendees, symbolizing a reaffirmation of the principles enshrined in the Constitution, a document dear to Dr. Ambedkar’s heart. A poignant documentary shedding light on the life and contributions of Ambedkar Saheb was also screened, providing insights into his remarkable journey.

The absence of Director Prof. N.V. Ramanna Rao was compensated by the reading of his message by Prof. N.D. Londhe. Prof. A.B. Soni, Director In-Charge, delivered a stirring Presidential Address, underscoring the relevance of Babasaheb’s teachings in women’s empowerment and his relevance in today’s context.

Dr. Baidhyanath Bagh introduced the Chief Guest reading his bio-data and elaborating on his achievements to the audience. The event also witnessed an Invited Address by the Chief Guest, Shri Ratan Lal Dangi, IPS, IG of Police, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. His motivational words resonated with the faculties, staff members, and students present, urging them to strive for excellence and offering valuable insights on life management. The Chief Guest Dangi enlightened the audience with the teachings and challenges faced by Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He elaborated on the contribution of Babasaheb towards women’s empowerment and also suggested to read Dr. Ambedkar deeply to know and follow him. He said, “After knowing him and his contribution towards the nation and society, a person will start worshipping him.”

Dr. Suraj Kumar Mukti expressed gratitude through a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all those involved in organizing the event. The program culminated with a rendition of the national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana,” stirring emotions of patriotism and pride.

Among the distinguished guests present were Registrar Prof. P.Y. Dhekne, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Shirish Verma, Dean of Faculty Welfare Prof. D. Sanyal, and Prof. G.D. Ramtekkar, whose presence added further significance to the occasion.

The successful execution of the program was lauded by the Chief Guest, Director, and the enthusiastic audience, affirming its importance in commemorating the ideals and principles championed by Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

The organizing committee, led by Prof. H. Bikrol, Prof. N.D. Londhe, Dr. Suraj Kumar Mukti, Dr. Baidyanath Bag, Dr. D.C. Jhariya, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Nisha Netam, Dr. C. Jatoth, Dr. Shriti Nagdeve, Shri Teman Thakur, Shri A.K. Dongare, Shri Samud Goyal and others, received accolades for their meticulous planning and execution, ensuring a memorable and impactful event.

As the echoes of celebration fade away, the spirit of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar continues to inspire and guide generations toward a more equitable and just society, echoing his timeless message of liberty, equality, and fraternity.
