SECL and CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra honoured with Performance Excellence Award 2024 by Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE)

Raipur chhattisgarh VISHESH SECL and CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra have been awarded the Performance Excellence Award 2024 by the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE).

The award was presented to a delegation representing SECL and CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra during the 24th CEO Conference held in Mussoorie for excellent performance in the coal industry and significant contribution to nation building on 31st May 2024.

Under the inspiring leadership of CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, SECL has recorded the highest coal production of 187 million tonnes in its history with a historic increase of 20 million tonnes for the second consecutive year in FY 23-24. In the financial year 23-24, SECL dispatched 180.5 million tonnes of coal to consumers, out of which 147.8 million tonnes of coal was sent to the power plants of the country, which is the highest dispatch given by the company to the power sector in any one year.

Along with this, keeping in mind the interests of the landowners, SECL approved employment to a total of 707 landowners in the year 23-24 in cases of land acquisition, which is the highest in the last decade. Under CSR, the company spent more than Rs 50 crore on various welfare schemes related to education, health, nutrition etc.

SECL started the “SECL Ke Sushruta” scheme under CSR, under which 40 children from the company’s operational areas located in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are being selected and given free residential NEET-medical coaching. While promoting the green development of Koyalanchal, SECL planted a record 10.77 lakh saplings in an area of 475 hectares in the year 23-24, which is the highest among all the subsidiary companies of Coal India.
