Raipur 26 December 2023// Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, on Tuesday, attended a programme organized at Mata Sundari Public School, located at Kachari Chowk, Raipur, to commemorate Veer Bal Diwas. Inaugurating an exhibition dedicated to the memory of Guru Gobind Singh’s Sahibzaadas Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the Chief Minister lit a lamp in front of their portraits and paid floral tributes. The event aimed to honour the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s family and the martyrdom of his sons.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that today, it is our good fortune that we have all gathered here to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas. Today is the day of the martyrdom of both the Sahibzaadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who, despite the pressure and torture of the Mughals, did not give up and accepted martyrdom at the ages of just six and nine years. They were buried alive in a wall, and the history of the Sikh community remains glorious due to such sacrifices.
Shri Sai stated that the Prime Minister of our country, Shri Narendra Modi, has played a crucial role in presenting the glorious history of India to the people, and I express my gratitude to him for this. We all take pride in the declaration of today as Veer Bal Diwas to honour the Sahibzaadas not only in our country but also globally. Providing details about Mata Sundari Public School, Chief Minister Shri Sai mentioned that the school is named after Mata Sundari, the mother of Veer Sahibzadas. I extend my best wishes to this institution and express hope that it continues to make progress.
He added that our government is committed to fulfilling every promise made under the ‘Modi ki Guarantee’. He mentioned that in line with this commitment, as soon as our government was formed, we decided to approve houses for 18 lakh eligible families in the state. On Good Governance Day, an amount of more than Rs 3700 crore has been disbursed to over 12 lakh farmers.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for declaring Veer Bal Diwas. He emphasized the need for society to guide school children on drawing inspiration from the fearless sacrifice of the young Sahibzaadas. Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Sai, he stated that, to participate in the Veer Bal Diwas events, he cancelled other programmes and agreed to participate only in the programmes of Veer Bal Diwas.
Cabinet Minister Shri Brijmohan Agrawal extended warm wishes on Veer Bal Diwas and thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for making it a national event. He stated that Guru Gobind Singh Ji taught his children to be fearless and not to bow down before their enemies. He emphasized that the Sikh community is renowned for its service, dedication, sacrifice, and bravery.
During the programme, the Sikh community honoured the Chief Minister with a kirpan, shawl, and Shriphal. School children contributed to the event by presenting Shabad Kirtan. The ceremony was attended by Cabinet Minister Shri OP Choudhary, MLAs, representatives of the Sikh community, and officials from the School Education Department.
