Shraddha Mahila Mandal, SECL organizes two-day Anand Mela

The two-day Anand Mela organized by Shraddha Mahila Mandal at the playground of SECL Vasant Vihar was concluded today after two days of festivities. On the second day of the Mela today, under the campaign of women empowerment through self-employment, e-rickshaws and hand carts were provided to 20 beneficiaries including economically challenged women. The said e-rickshaw and hand cart were given away by Shraddha Mahila Mandal, SECL President and first lady of SECL family, Mrs. Poonam Mishra.
Among the beneficiaries, e-rickshaws were provided to 10 women and hand carts were provided to 4 women and 6 men. These e-rickshaws and hand carts given to beneficiaries coming from economically weaker sections, especially women, will provide a means of self-employment through which they will be able to become self-reliant and support their families.
The women looked very happy after getting the e-rickshaw and hand cart and they said that we are very grateful to Shraddha Mahila Mandal President Mrs. Poonam Mishra for providing the e-rickshaw and hand cart and it will greatly help us in earning a means of livelihood.
A huge crowd of people was seen in the two-day Anand Mela organized by Shraddha Mahila Mandal. On this occasion, Shraddha Mahila Mandal President Mrs. Poonam Mishra said that we were able to accomplish the feat of organizing this 2-day mela due to the tireless efforts of all the officials and members of Shraddha Mahila Mandal, SECL Bilaspur and regional committees of our 13 coal fields participating in this fair.
Stalls based on themes of different states of India put up by women committees of various operational areas of SECL including Shraddha Mahila Mandal SECL Bilaspur at Anand Mela presented the image of a Mini India at the Mela.
The stall of Shraddha Mahila Mandal SECL headquarters became the center of attraction in which a huge crowd of people gathered to take selfies at the Chennai Express selfie point. Also, a gem-like structure depicting Chhattisgarhi village region has been made in the stall. Similarly, a structure like bullock cart has also been built, which was liked a lot by the people.
At the same time, a huge crowd of people gathered in the stalls of women committees of various operational areas of SECL. In the fair, Gevra area set up a stall on the theme of Haryana state in which people enjoyed various dishes of Haryana state. Similarly, stalls were set up by Dipka region on the theme of West Bengal and Kusmunda region on the theme of Bihar state in which people enjoyed the local cuisine of these states. Bhatgaon region created a stall on the theme of Goa state in which a cruise was displayed which attracted the attention of the people. Crowd of people was also seen at the stall set up by Raigarh region on the theme of Jharkhand state.
Apart from the headquarters and regional women’s committees, more than 80 stalls have been set up in the fair by various entrepreneurs, especially women entrepreneurs. Products related to local art, culture, handicrafts etc. of Chhattisgarh were displayed in these stalls, which were purchased by the people visiting the fair.
SECL employee along with his family and people of nearby and city enjoyed a lot in this joy fair organized by Shraddha Mahila Mandal. In Anand Mela, people tasted various dishes and bought famous clothes and other goods from different regions. Among the dishes, people tasted Chhattisgarhi, Rajasthani, Uttar Pradesh, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali etc. dishes. Along with this, people purchased the items of their need from the stalls set up by small entrepreneurs.
On this occasion, various regional women’s committees were awarded for the welfare work done by them.
On this occasion, Shraddha Mahila Mandal Vice President Mrs. Ritanjali Pal, and members Mrs. Raji Srinivasan, Mrs. Sangeeta Kapri, Mrs. Sujata Khamari were present.
