Raipur chhattisgarh VISHESH Korba, 06th June 2022: With a motto to encourage and inspire the girl child, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Prabhakar Pandey today interacted with the girls participating in the Girl Empowerment Mission 2022 at NTPC Korba. Shri Khazanchi Kumar (Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation) and Shri P M Jena (Chief General Manager, NTPC Korba) were also present in the session. Shri Prabhakar Pandey inspired the girls and encouraged them to move forward in the field of their choice and said that: “We should take responsibility for the development of our children’s soft skills and interests. In life, soft skills, sports etc. are very important in the personality development and improving concentration of a person. The steps taken by NTPC for the skill development of children through the Girl Child Empowerment Campaign are laudable.” NTPC Korba is making continuous efforts in empowering the girl child as well as aiming to make them aware about subjects like basic education, yoga, arts, health, skills, self-defense, fine arts, under the one-month long girl empowerment campaign. Through this initiative, NTPC has attempted to dispel the orthodox concepts especially in rural areas and spread awareness about problems like female feticide. Along with the empowerment of the girl child, this campaign also works to enhance their talent. Under this campaign, children get a chance to showcase their talent and potential.
